The Valencian Community is the sixth autonomous region with the fewest effective hours worked in Spain

According to the V Adecco Report on absenteeism from work presented in Valencia, the absenteeism rate worsened in 2015, reaching 4.7% in Spain. By sectors, the rate reached 4.9% in Services, 4.6% in Industry and 3.2% in Construction.

According to the report, the Valencian Community is among the six autonomies with the fewest effective hours worked. With its 1,522.8 hours, only Aragón, Extremadura, Castilla y León, Asturias and Bosnia and Herzegovina Phone Number List Navarra are below it. Furthermore, the Valencian autonomy has experienced an interannual decrease in the number of effective hours worked, going from 1,528.2 to 1,522.8 today.

Regarding hours not worked, the Valencian Community is also below the Spanish average, which is 254.8, while in the autonomous region it is 251.8. Below it are only Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, the Canary Islands, Extremadura, Andalusia and the Balearic Islands.

The phenomenon of presenteeism in Spain is also worrying. We understand presenteeism to be present at the workplace, dedicating that time to matters not related to the purpose of the work.

53% of the companies surveyed indicate that there is some practice of presenteeism, but this is carried out mostly by few or a few employees. 57% of companies say they have less than 10% of their staff with presenteeism practices, and only 13% of companies say they have more than 75% of their staff with presenteeism practices.

Presenteeism decreased between 2008 and 2011, while it increased between 2012 and 2015, causing a polarization of working conditions into two profiles: employees who feel the threat of losing their job and reduce presenteeism and employees who feel more secure in their jobs. job position and more predisposed (middle managers, staff with a full-time indefinite contract...). However, the report points out how 88% of companies apply methods of controlling their employees' schedules, and only 34% of companies offer flexible hours to more than 25% of the workforce. This lack of flexibility is more pronounced in SMEs than in large companies.
